This piece is inspired by the wetlands near my home. I love how wide open the sky feels here, over the seas of golden grasses and the sparkling bay beyond. There are two boats there that I gave returned to paint over many years. I wanted to portray the feeling of freedom of the place contrasted against the tension of the taught rope holding the boat from wandering. oil 24” x 48” unframed
